This has been Sugita's goal and ideal since its founding in 1965 to the present day. No matter how much the times change, the essence of Sugita as a company will never change. Sugita will continue to be a company that meets customer needs and contributes to society. However, the means of doing so change with the times. Sugita was founded in 1965, in the midst of Japan's period of rapid economic growth. At that time, economic growth was remarkable and the entire country was thriving. The textile industry, which played a central role in economic growth, was booming, and demand for sewing thread, one of the most representative textile products, was skyrocketing. At the time, Sugita devoted all its efforts to developing a wide range of textile products, ensuring a stable supply to the market, and implementing thorough quality control, in order to provide customers with high-performance, high-quality textile products. This was what customers wanted at the time, and what we wanted to contribute to society. Then, times changed. One after the other, new high-performance, high-quality textile products were released onto the market, and competitors entered the textile industry one after another. Textile technology has undergone technological innovations that are incomparable to anything seen before, and the overall level of the textile industry has been raised significantly. These are now Japan's world-class technologies. However, no matter how excellent the technology used to make a product, if it deviates from the customer's perspective, it will not be able to meet customer demands, let alone contribute to society.

One answer emerged as the times changed
"A good product will sell, and a good product will make customers happy." That era is over, and the entire textile industry is on the brink of a major transformation. We at Sugita were witnessing this change in the times. If we focused only on technological innovation and strayed from our goals of customer needs and contributing to society, the foundation of Sugita as a company would crumble. Sensing this crisis, we thoroughly researched and pondered what our customers wanted in this day and age, and what kind of social contribution was required, in our continued search for an answer. Of course, the answer is not so easy to find. Unlike a math problem, there is no single, absolute answer. It was like trying to grasp at clouds, searching for an answer that never existed.

After much effort and time, we finally arrived at the answer: "Leverage the textile technology Sugita has cultivated to solve the problems of customers in a variety of industries." We are textile professionals, and are virtually amateurs when it comes to other industries and technologies. However, no matter what industry the problem is, we can solve it from the perspective of a textile professional. We do our best to meet customers in any industry, understand their problems, and propose solutions from the perspective of a textile professional. We will grow that experience and track record into a major business and connect it to contributing to society in today's age. The horizontal connections we have built with customers in this process are an invaluable asset to Sugita. And our customers are truly important partners to us.
Sugita's strengths
Sugita does not have any unique strengths. This is because Sugita's business changes flexibly according to the needs of its customers at any given time, and the type of social contribution that each era demands. If we were to dare to say what Sugita's strengths are, they would be the connections and relationships of trust it has with its many customers, and its attitude toward society. Sugita will continue to read the trends of the times and continue to run for its customers and for the sake of contributing to society.
